This past Saturday there was this man with white hair that sort of creeped me out, but he was saying that my husband better treat me well. When we introduced each other and I said my name, he said that my name meant “beloved.” I was surprised that he knew that instantly. Then he immediately quoted I Samuel 25:25b in the King James Version: for as his name is, so is he.
Yesterday evening Inch asked a handful of us if we wanted to participate in the following:

Dining Out For Life
Benefiting AIDS Foundation HoustonOn Thursday, April 30, 2009, restaurants across Houston will unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Each restaurant will generously donate 33% of food bills all day long. In 2008 with the help of great Houston restaurants, AFH raised over $80,000 in support for their programs and services such as housing, case management, and food assistance for nearly 5,000 HIV+ men, women, and children.
Visit this site often and b4-u-eat.com (look for DOFL restaurants), as restaurants will be updated until Dining Out for Life 2009! Also, don’t forget to support participating restaurants throughout the year.
For more information about how to become a participating restaurant or sponsor for Dining Out for Life 2009, contact Claire at (713) 623-6796 ext. 224 or email her. For current information on AFH, click here.
Long story short, it just ended up being Andrew and me. How fun ;-) We went to Barnaby’s at the Shepherd location. We chatted about a range of topics, as all normal conversations go, and he enlightened me (he seems to do that a lot) that Britney Spears sings a song with my name in it but really has nothing to do with Amy. He said I probably won’t use that as my theme song. I “listened” it up, along with some others (well, not all):
- “If U Seek Amy” by Britney Spears
- “Amie” by Pure Prairie League
- “Amy” by Billy Redfield
- “Amy” by Bleu Edmondson
- “Amy” by Bobby Darin
- “Amy” by The Crash Motive
- “Amy” by Dirty Three
- “Amy” by Elton John
- “Amy” by Mark Ronson
- “Amy” by Mark Ronson featuring Kenna
- “Amy” by Percy Faith & His Orchestra
- “Amy” by Peri Urban
- “Amy” by Richard Julian
- “Amy” by River City High
- “Amy” by Ryan Adams
- “Amy” by This World Fair
- “Amy” by THREELEGGEDDOG
- “Amy Amy Amy” by Amy Winehouse
- “Amy’s Back in Austin” by Little Texas
- “Amy’s Song” by David Chen
- “Amy’s Song” by Joshua Radin
- “Amy’s Song” by The Paper Life
- “Amy’s Song” by Switchfoot
- “Chasing Amy” by Brett James
- “Once in Love With Amy“ by Frank Loesser

Have a better eponymous song for me?
You are the defender of the weak
You are near those in need
You are a peace to those who grieve
my God you are so many thingsYou are my refuge and strength
You are my hiding place
You hear my voice when i call
before i say anything at all
in desperate need i cry
only to realize
the hand that heals the sick
has my name written on itYou are the forgiver of my past
You are the pure and spotless lamb
You are the balm that heals the wounds i have
my God You are so many things
