I feel like this is supposed to be space for an eHarmony ad or something lol! Sixty-five-inch-tall 24-yo 115-lb. Asian-American female seeking sexy AA male who is willing to learn to dance with me into eternity, hehe ;-)
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. –Psalm 139:14
Both my parents were born in Taiwan, but my dad’s family is from Taiwan while my mom’s family is from China (e.g. my grandmother is Cantonese). They both found God in very different ways, met at church, and married. When they had me in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, they named me “beloved”. My other names mean “fairy, elf,” “faith,” “poetic,” and “from the pasture meadow”. I have a brother twenty months my junior named after one of the apostles; we’re like this: X. I grew up here in Stafford, surrendered to God myself, went to Austin after graduation, then transfered to El Paso to study for my Master’s in Occupational Therapy.
The days are coming…when I will send a famine through the land— not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. –Amos 8:11
I like to eat meat and fruit, then vegetables, and then carbs (e.g. French toast). I’m not too into sweets, but I love gummy bears/worms/critters and dairy-related desserts such as ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt…. I usually drink soy milk because I’m a bit lactose intolerant, though. So when I eat cereal in the mornings, I pour it into my cup of soymilk. I like to chew ice, and I can’t take spicy well.
Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain…. In vain you rise early and stay up late, …for he grants sleep to those he loves. –Psalm 127:1-2
I grew up watching Batman: The Animated Series and Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics. Now I watch Monk, House MD, Pushing Daisies, and shows similar to Law and Order, CSI, and Without a Trace. I like to say I enjoy a wide variety of music, but don’t try to engage me in a conversation about them. I listen to alternative, pop, country, un-hard rock, classical, Christian contemporary (e.g. Nichole Nordeman and Third Day), and any that suggest swing dancing :-) I’d like to learn tap dancing, and swing dancing. I like to swing on playground swings as well, and climb trees, and I usually amateur with sports. They say I’m pretty good at volleyball, I dig snowboarding, and right now Ultimate Frisbee is my preference. I don’t know how to swim at all (treading, wading, floating, nothing but drowning), so that may have to be a priority…(and go here: http://ahiida.com/ hee). For other fun I have a blast with DDR and Rock Band, blowing bubbles, riding a bicycle (or on the spokes of one) on a slight decline, “playing” the piano, speedy card games (e.g. Egyptian Rascal and Double Speed), and Telephone (e.g. paper and acting versions).
Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment…. We have different gifts…. if it is encouraging, let him encourage –Romans 12:3-8
I am drawn to art, so if I had the money I’d dress up all the time (especially in skirts and dresses). Maybe not..I am most comfortable in jeans and a T-shirt. But I like to watch HGTV and the Style channel and can spend hours on end in craft stores, office stores, bakeries (their food presentations), and bookstores. Meeting the Messiah and Mister God, This Is Anna are books dear to my heart. I also like writings from C. S. Lewis and Henri Nouwen. My next career might be being an interior designer, a carpenter, a professional organizer, or a masseuse (well, maybe not that last one; I just want to learn it for my future husband).
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus –Philippians 2:3,5
I can’t live without warm dry clean socks on a rainy day. A stormy night always brings me back. As my parents drove us under a bridge on the way to church with drops falling as sheets, I see people on the streets and wonder how crummy of a situation they must be in - poverty is something a child can easily grasp. As I got older, my parents would let me hand them the extra lunchboxes we bought from the church’s lunch service. Another issue that I think about a lot started in college. I took the required Sociology class in college (it was easier than high school that I skipped classes often) and the night before an exam I went down into a large empty room in the library and read all the textbook chapters required. Somewhere it talked about sex trafficking and the brothels. I wept. How could anyone sin against another so intimately (I Corinthians 6:18)? …How could we (Ezekiel 16)?
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. –Hebrews 12:2
